Screw the postings. I'll go through them in the morning.. [Technically, they're open 'till eight p.m.; I was just hoping to get them figured out before I went to campus. I suppose if I don't finish I can just take resumes and finish looking through the jobs there.]
I need to go to sleep. My eyes are really killing me. I stayed up too late playing EverQuest last night. Not too late by, say, my grade nine standards, but definitely too late by my current standards. I was falling asleep in Stats today, which is unheard of.
It's all rather sad, considering that I did still get six hours of sleep. Mom would say my lifestyle's killing me... I say yay for sleep. Goodnight.

| Algorithm Analysis |

Carol's LiveJournal proclaimed her posting style as 54% female. Intrigued, I checked out The Gender Genie, and ran the text of my own and several of my friends' blogs through it on "blog entry" mode. The results:- Me: male
- Ellie: male
- Jacq: male
- ChiQui: female
- Adri: female
- Tim: male
- Carol: female
I suppose those results aren't too bad, except for El, Jacq and I being male. I suspect Kim would have come out male too, if I'd had some material to test. ... I just lost all interest in finishing that thought. Must check co-op postings. Eyes burning. Assignments not done. Can't stop thinking about EverQuest. Or my new little friend, but I'll tell you about that later.

| I Never Learn |
[ Wednesday, September 17, 2003 | 2:06 p.m. ] |
I have a general rule that any post longer than an average paragraph should be composed in an external editor, not in a browser in the web form for adding a new entry. But then, I tend to ignore this rule in the labs at school. Strange, considering this is one of the most perilous places.
I'd been sitting here for a good hour, and had composed a sizeable post (~1000 words?) when Netscape just quit on me. It was a clean exit, no errors, but I don't recall accidentally hitting Alt-Q or Alt-W. Anyhow, it's pissed me off. I may try to recreate some of it later; we'll see. But for now I'm leaving. I think I might go outdoors for a few minutes before stats.

| CO 350 Assignment 1 |
[ Wednesday, September 17, 2003 | 1:33 a.m. ] |
Naturally, now that I have deadlines, I have endless energy to devote to my blog. Today was a total bust. Let's say, by a generous estimate, that I got home from school around two this afternoon. I've done nothing but play games, surf the web, and talk to Sean on the phone since then. That's eleven hours, which is disgusting or impressive, depending on how you look at it. Lack of dinner is gnawing at me; if I ever get to work on that assignment* I might reward myself with some Fritos Twists. And a {Cream Soda|Grape|Orange} Crush. Well, no, not Orange. (Orange isn't much of a reward, but it came in the Rainbow Pack.) So I should really get on with that...
Heh. I've sure been saying that for a while now. Thank God I start these things in advance. I may not get going again until a few hours before the deadline, but at least when I hit that point, I'll have something to work with.
Now that I think about it, I think I'd really like to go to sleep. Maybe it's the lack of dinners, or just the consistent late nights (staying up 'till 1 or 2 a.m. most days since we got our internet hooked up) [Incidentally, it's funny that I consider these late nights now, when a few years ago I would've considered them normal; I must be getting old], but I'm really tired. The assignment is due in ~10 hours from the time of this writing. Practically, I'm supposed to meet El on campus in ~9.5 hours. Leaving myself a conservative, say, three hours to finish the assignment, and assuming a departure time just before eleven, I could sleep until, say, seven a.m., and still have an hour to get ready (or keep working, if needed). I hate to slip into this on my first fucking assignment of the term, but hey, I've dug my grave, now I've got to lie in it. Mmm. Lie. Bed. Sleep. Dreams of bears & bunnies. That's it. I'm going.
*As is usually the case, I have a "rough copy" of the assignment done. It at least has answers for all but one question. (Specifically, the last part of the last question. It's a linear algebra review exercise, i.e. a proof. Unfortunately, I don't remember much of that stuff, and I'm helpless without a chapter reference.)

What colour are you?
